All of the following questions can be accessed within the Design Tool using the Help function (?) in the top right hand corner

How do I ensure the best print quality?

My Wonder Wall HP Wall Art Solution technologies produce the best possible results. However, some file types become pixilated after being enlarged to a certain point. The My Wonder Wall HP Wall Art Solution design tool will give you a warning when the image becomes too pixilated for the desired application.

For customer-uploaded photos, try to choose high-quality images with fine detail and large file sizes that have not been compressed. A non-compressed image will reduce artefacts and pixilation while fewer lines will cut down on analogue noise and produce an overall cleaner image.

How long do My Wonder Wall HP Wall Art products last?

It will depend on the material used and the printer used to produce the wall covering. Wall Coverings and Wall Posters are printed with HP latex technology.

More specific details can be found under the technical specifications tab.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes, and you must be logged into your account to access the tool. You can use the tool as a guest however your projects will not be saved upon log-out.

What is the measurement accuracy in My Wonder Wall wall coverings?

The Wall Art Solution design tool has an accuracy of up to ¼ of an inch. Moreover, Wall Coverings are delivered with some additional space to account for wall imperfections. However, it is best to allow some buffer in your design to further account for variables such as wall irregularities. A buffer will provide leeway when positioning your design.

Additionally, we recommend that you place critical elements of your design away from obstructions or wall edges.

Do I have to have measurements to design a Wall Covering?

You can begin designing your Wall Covering with approximate measurements. However, it is very important to apply the correct measurements to your project before you check-out and purchase your design.

How do I know which design is best for the style of my room?

Creating a My Wonder Wall design is more intriguing than simply picking paint because you’re picking colour and a pattern. Start by experimenting with the Wall Art design tool. Include pictures and backgrounds that will inspire the room. Make sure the colours pastorate the furniture, carpet, and other room elements. After you’ve established a mood, creating the right wall covering gets easier.

Why am I having a problem fitting the image into my Wall Covering design?

Background proportions are an important factor in creating a wall covering. For example, a landscape-oriented background may fit awkwardly on a tall wall because the image shape is contrary to the shape of the wall. For the best results, select a background image with similar proportions to your wall.

Can I use a dark and/or large pattern in a small room?

Absolutely! Standard decorating “rules” hold that light colours make spaces seem larger and dark colours make them seem smaller. However, dark colours are frequently used in smaller spaces to create a warm and intimate environment. Additionally, large patterns will give a small room an added sense of dimension. Sometimes spaces you visit for short periods are the best places to have fun and take chances.

What content can I use?

My Wonder Wall is designed primarily for you to upload your own content. You must own the license and rights for that content. With these images you can design the wallpaper and wall covering of your choice. However you can access our library of images from My Wonder Wall, Fotolia© & Pattern Design©

How do I preview my design?

To preview your design, click the PREVIEW button at the bottom right of your screen.

My preview doesn’t look very good. Is this representative of the quality of the final product?

The My Wonder Wall design tool uses smaller file sizes to speed access times over the web. It is not representative of the quality of the printed images. To see the actual print quality, order a sample.

Can I add text and move it around in my design?

To add text to your design, click on the ADD CUSTOM TEXT button at the bottom left of your screen. You can scale and move around, modify the font or the colour of the text.

Do I need to prepare my walls before applying my wall covering?
The wall surface should be:

  • Flat
  • Clean
  • Dry
  • Free of mildew, grease, or other stains

For best results, apply your Wall Covering to a wall surface that has been painted with one coat of primer and one coat of latex paint. If the paint is old or flaking, priming is highly recommended. Old wallpaper and adhesive should be removed by sanding or adhesive remover and primer should be applied to the clean, smooth wall surface prior to application.

Applying a Wall Covering to panelling or wall currently covered with wallpaper is not recommended.

Do I need special tools to apply my wall covering?

We recommend that you use a squeegee to apply your wall covering.

Below is a list of tools recommended for the application of a Wall Covering.

  • Smoothing tool
  • Utility knife with spare blades
  • Sponge (only if using pre-pasted wallpaper)
  • Level or plumb-bob
  • Drop cloth (only if using pre-pasted wallpaper)
  • Wall panel tray (only if using pre-pasted wallpaper)
  • Tape measure
  • Ladder

Remember to use all tools per manufacturer’s safety instructions.

Are there any tricks to papering around doors and windows when installing a Wall Covering?

There are some tricks to applying your project. If the panel covers a portion of wall with a door, window, or fixture:

  1. Use a straightedge to push the panel flush against the wall or the obstruction.
  2. Use a utility knife to cut away excess material around the object leaving enough material that it hangs just slightly over the obstruction.
  3. Use a flathead screwdriver or other flat tool to tuck the excess material behind the obstruction.

What is the best starting point to begin a Wall Covering installation?

Panel numbers are printed at the bottom of each strip. Apply the panels in numerical order following the process described in the installation instructions included in the product package.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the application process is not from one end to the other but rather begins in the middle of the wall. It is critical that you check the instructions to verify the placement of the first panel.

How do I remove air bubbles after application?

It is important to use a soft cloth or sponge to remove bubbles during the initial application, and then smooth out any remaining large bubbles using a smoothing tool. Ensure care is taken so as not to damage the wall covering material.
